YOUNG GUNS VS THE VETERANS AT MILWAUKEE

(Sun Prairie, WI) This Sunday, June 20th the Midwest Truck Series will make its return to the historic Milwaukee Mile. A strong field of 26 Trucks are entered and will battle in a 20 lap feature presented by Belgard.

The last time the Midwest Truck Series was at the Milwaukee Mile was in 2019 which saw young guns Levon Van Der Geest and Joe Valento battle the entire race side by side with Van Der Geest pulling away in the final laps and take the checkered flag. Although those two have graduated from the Midwest Trucks the 2021 lineup consists of several heavy hitters.

One of those drivers is Elko, Minnesota rookie Tristan Swanson. Swanson was victorious the last time the Trucks were in competition at Hawkeye Downs and is the only multiple time winner on the season. Swanson, who took back over the point lead, will look to use that momentum and roll into Milwaukee victory lane. The 2020 Rookie of the Year, Bryce Miller, always seems to find himself inside the top 5 including a win this season at State Park Speedway. Miller’s patience and poise looks to lead him to victory on Sunday. Sixteen year old female driver AJ Kreager has been fast all season with several quick times and a feature win at Golden Sands Speedway. Kreager currently sits 5th in the point standings.

In addition to the young stars are the veteran drivers. One of those veteran drivers is 4-Time Champion James Swan. Swan won the first race of the season back in April at Dells Raceway Park and has rebounded back to the podium after picking up quick time and a second place this past weekend at Hawkeye Downs. Although Swan is still seeking a Milwaukee win in the Trucks he does have a win back when he raced in the Mid Am Stock Car Series. Veteran driver Brad Kossow has quietly been consistent as of late finishing third in each of the last three events. Kossow may be new to the series, but the team he races for isn’t. Kossow pilots the #12 Kelly Bires Racing truck which holds the current track record at Milwaukee with Joe Valento from back in 2019. Another veteran who currently sits 2nd in the points is Chester Ace. Ace’s green 93 always seems to find his way to the front. Although Ace doesn’t have a win this season, he is on what may be one of his best seasons with the Midwest Truck Series and has high hopes that he will win at the historic Mile.
