The Field of 25 Is Ready For The Mile
It's about time we head back to the historic Milwaukee Mile! A field of 25 is expected to roll through the gates of the Wisconsin one mile oval as we join the ASA STARS National Tour, Mid-Am Racing Series, and Upper Midwest Vintage Series for the Father's Day Special this Sunday June 16th.
Jeff Holtz carries a 9 point lead over Chester Ace, however, Ace set fast time last year and won the race to pick up his first win at the Milwaukee Mile. James Swan is a two time winner looking to continue his momentum back into the title hunt.
Bryce Miller and Eugene Gregorich III looked poised for a good finish before contact while battling for the lead took them both out of contention in 2023.
Kevin Zielezinski says this is his favorite track and put on a show coming from the back last year while other championship contenders like Jacob Nottestad and Brandon Reichenberger will see the Milwaukee Mile for the first time in a Midwest Truck.
JK Tools Rookie of the Year Contenders will need to learn to adapt quick to the high speeds of the Mile so all eyes will be on Parker Cain, Wyatt Kraiss, Tucker Bodendorfer, and Kasey Vander Loop.
Clay Curts and Alan Shierling Jr will both be making their Midwest Truck Series debut this Sunday and what better place than the Milwaukee Mile?
Cody Vander Loop has shown speed on the big tracks while Derek Doerr is off to his best start to the year in a Midwest Truck and will lean on his 5th place finish just one year ago.
2023 Milwaukee Mile was a race that Brent Kirchner hopes to forget someday with mechanical issues not even allowing Brent to turn a lap, but he is back and ready to make his season debut.
Braison Bennett and Grant Griesbach are both the definition of a short track racer. Each week you can see them in multiple cars, at multiple track, and this Sunday you will find them both in a truck at the Mile for the first time.
After a wreck at Madison cost Aaron Moyer the lead, he has the #140 fixed back up and ready to return to the truckin' action.
Nick Roehl rounded out the top 10 a season ago while Tyler Noble and Tom Steinbach both showed speed on the biggest track the trucks race at during the year.
Kevin Knuese currently sits tied for 7th in the points but is only 37 points out of 5th. Could Milwaukee be the place where Kevin can break through and find victory lane again?
Then there is Jerry Wood, what can we say about the long time veteran and former champion of the Midwest Truck Series. Back in the wheel after taking a couple of races off, the Milwaukee Mile was one he had circled since the schedule came out.
Qualifying goes green at 11AM with racing action at 1. The Midwest Trucks are first in both time slots.
