Swan Edges Ace as Veterans Beat Young Guns at the Mile

The Midwest Truck Series returned to action on Father’s Day at the Milwaukee Mile with a 20 lap feature presented by Belgard. Twenty two trucks were on hand to do battle with Brad Kossow taking Fast Time honors with a lap of 31.385 seconds.

The 20 lap feature was led to green by Jerry Brickner and Bryce Miller. Miller jumped to the front from his outside position and led the first three laps. Lap 4 saw Jesse Pokszyk duck inside Bryce Miller for the lead. While this was going on James Swan who started 5th was slowly working his way to the front. Lap 13 was not lucky for the Midwest Truck Series as the first yellow of the day came out for a Brad Kossow spin in turn 3. On the ensuing green Tristan Swanson, who was running 4th, had an issue with his hood and had to pull off and while this was happening the leader Pokszyk spun out in turn 4. When the race resumed it found Chester Ace who started 6th getting the jump on Swan and taking the lead. Ace held off Swan until the white flag lap where Swan inched ahead only to give the lead back to Ace coming out of two. Swan dove to the inside in three and four and the two trucks drag raced down the front stretch with Swan coming out victorious. James Lynch had a solid run with a third place finish, Bryce Miller held on for 4th and Tristan Swanson recovered from earlier race issues to finish 5th. The victory for Swan was his first win at the Mile since 2006 when he won in the Mid Am Stock Car Series.

The Midwest Truck Series moves to Marshfield Speedway on Saturday, July 10th followed by Jefferson Speedway on July 24th. For more information visit Midwesttruckseries.com or check us out on Facebook at Midwest Truck Series.
