Madison By The Numbers




The Midwest Truck Series has a rich history at Wisconsin’s Fastest Halfmile. The pseudo “Birthplace of the Trucks” has always felt like home. This season the series heads to back to Madison for the two traditional modern era dates, the Joe Shear Classic in May, and the Howie Lettow Memorial in August. Let’s take a moment and dive into the numbers. 


.053 - Kevin Knuese barley picked up the win over Bryce Miller in a side by side thriller back in 2022.


2 - This is the second race of 14 on the 2024 Midwest Truck Series Season


3.891 - The margin of victory in last year’s Joe Shear Classic. James Lynch checked out and dominated the field. This win was the largest in series history at Madison. 


5 - Chester Ace has 5 wins at Madison since 2010. His first one came back in 2013 with his most recent in 2022.


7 - Jacob Nottestad currently holds a 7 point advantage over Chester Ace in the 2024 season point standings. 


-14 - James Swan lost 14 spots in the feature after a mechanical issue forced a DNF. In 2023 Swan didn’t have a single race where he lost a position in the feature. His worst race was a +/- of 0 at Golden Sands Speedway on Memorial Day. 


18.662 - Track Record held by Mike Corvo III set back in 2019.


26 - The average number of trucks to roll through the gate at each Madison race dating back to 2019


28 - The expected number of trucks to roll through the gate for the Joe Shear Classic 36 presented by Club La Mark


30 - The Midwest Truck Series has visited Madison International Speedway 29 times previous in the modern era (Since 2010). Race #30 happens this Sunday.


196 - This will be the 196th truck race at Madison. A division that started back in the mid 1990’s is still going strong today at the World’s Fastest Half Mile


Fans will be in for a treat this Sunday with a beautiful afternoon of racing. The Midwest Truck Series will join the ASA Midwest Tour in a full afternoon of racing. Qualifying begins at 12:45 with racing action kicking off at 2PM. In addition to on track racing activities, fans can part take in an autograph session with some of the Midwest Tour’s biggest stars as well as enjoy the Wisconsin Badger Marching Band live on the speedway grounds.
