A Stacked Field Ready For The Prelude
(Sun Prairie, WI) Close to 30 Midwest Truck Series teams are expected to be on hand for the 2024 Prelude to the Nationals at Slinger Speedway this Sunday July 7th. An event that kicks off the action leading up to the Slinger Nationals headline event on Tuesday is the annual stop for the Midwest Truck Series teams.
In what is one of the most difficult tracks, an extended feature puts the teams to the test on their quest to be 2024 Midwest Truck Series champion.
Chester Ace leads them all in the 2024 Championship Driver Points standings just a mere 17 points over Eugene Gregorich III. Ace, who was victorious the last time the trucks were out at the Milwaukee Mile, found victory lane at Slinger in a truck back in 2016. Gregorich is having the best start to a season in his young career and sits 2nd in the points standings for the second time this season. 2023 Prelude to the Nationals winner Jeff Holtz sits 3rd currently only 22 points back. Holtz has two wins on the season and was leading the points standings just a couple races ago. Former Slinger Speedway Track Champion Jacob Nottestad is off to a strong start in his inaugural campaign with the series holding down the 4th place in the standings 26 out of the point lead. Brandon Reichenberger rounds out the top 5 59 points back.
The JK Tools Rookie of the Year battle has Parker Cain out front 13th in overall standings with 267 points, Tucker Bodendorfer trails Cain for the JK Tools Rookie of the Year title by 33 while Wyatt Kraiss and Kasey Vander Loop both look to race their way back into contention.
The event will also play host to the first round of the All Weather Armour Mid-Summer Shootout with teams 13-20th in owner’s points competing in the first of 5 round bracket challenge.
Qualifying is set for 5:20 with racing action kicking off at 6:30. Fans can still purchase tickets at https://slingersuperspeedway.com.
